HUMANIN (10mg)

Humanin is a 24-amino acid peptide encoded within the mitochondrial genome, in an open reading frame of the 16S rRNA region. It is one of the earliest described mitochondria-derived peptides.

In published literature, humanin has been characterized as a ligand of several cell-surface receptor complexes, including the heterotrimeric receptor formed by CNTFR, WSX-1 (IL-27R), and gp130, and it has also been reported to bind the FPRL1/FPR2 formyl peptide receptor. This material is supplied as a characterized reference compound for non-clinical laboratory work, such as analytical method development, receptor binding and competition assays, and in vitro studies of mitochondria-derived peptides.
