Description
MK-677, also known as ibutamoren, is a non-peptide, orally active compound characterized in the scientific literature as a selective agonist of the ghrelin receptor (the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, or GHS-R). On this basis it is classified as a growth hormone secretagogue and a ghrelin mimetic. Because it is not a peptide, it shares no structural relationship with ghrelin itself, and it is chemically distinct from selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs), with which it is sometimes grouped in reference material.
In published studies, investigators have reported that MK-677 can increase levels of growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) in the biological models examined, and it has been noted in the literature for its oral bioavailability and extended activity profile. This product is supplied strictly as a reference material for laboratory and in-vitro research.
