Description
PEG-MGF is a polyethylene glycol conjugate of MGF, the 24-residue C-terminal E-domain peptide of the IGF-1 Ec splice variant. The peptide carries an additional C-terminal cysteine residue that serves as the site for PEG attachment, and the PEG is joined through a succinimidyl linker.
PEGylation is a standard bioconjugation approach used to increase hydrodynamic radius and reduce renal clearance of small peptides. This material is supplied as a characterized reference conjugate for non-clinical laboratory work, such as size exclusion and reverse-phase chromatographic characterization of PEG-peptide conjugates, analytical method development for PEGylated species, conjugation efficiency and free-peptide determination, IGF-1 receptor binding assays, and in vitro myoblast culture studies.
